Dieter P. Lerch Addresses Officials at NJLM Conference
November 28, 2011 ... Dieter P. Lerch, CPA, RMA, PSA, presented a session to over 300 municipal and government officials during the 96th Annual New Jersey League of Municipalities Conference in Atlantic City recently. The session, entitled "Preparing for the Auditor's Visit," was featured during a joint session of the Government Finance Officers Association of New Jersey and the Tax Collectors and Treasurers Association of New Jersey.
He began by describing the three governing body units involved in the audit: the Certified Financial Officer (CFO), the Certified Tax Collector (CTC) and the Registered Municipal Clerk (RMC), and then explained the role each plays in the process. Mr. Lerch also discussed other topics which have recently impacted many municipalities. These included Tax Appeals, Terminal Leave, Revaluation/Reassessment and Flood/Hurricane /Nor’easter Emergencies.
